The majority of hot rolled bar products produced at the Joliet Facility are supplied directly to original equipment manufacturers and cold drawn bar finishers, while the remainder is sold to steel service centers.

Sheffield Steel Joliet is recognized as a dependable rolling mill providing high-quality steel products and superior service. Centrally located in Illinois, Sheffield Joliet supplies a diverse base of manufacturers, fabricators, cold finished bar producers and metal service centers throughout the country. Capable of producing standard, nonstandard, metric and near-net shapes to tolerances more exacting than industry standards, the Joliet facility can produce these produces in a wide variety of grades, including all carbon grades 1008-1090, high manganese carbon steels, high-strength, low alloy as well as alloy and leaded lines. At Sheffield Steel Joliet, we can produce smaller lot sizes, have shorter rolling cycles and offer a roll and hold program to meet the most demanding JIT delivery requirements.

The Joliet Facility has implemented an internally developed bar-coded inventory tracking system, which permits quick and precise inventories to be taken at any time. Sheffield has also developed a customer query system, which provides agents and major customers with direct computer access to the status of their production orders, the availability of inventory designated for them and our production schedules for their products.
